MAKING IT IN MILAN: ALVINT RETURNS

AlvinT, the leading Jakarta-based design firm, makes a comeback in the Salone del Mobile exhibition held on the 17-22 April 2018 in Milan, Italy. Alongside 27 designers and manufacturers from Indonesia AlvinT’s presence is supported by Bekraf (Badan Ekonomi Kreatif), Indonesia’s very own non-ministerial agency that promotes economic development within the creative industry.
This is the second consecutive year for the agency to support Indonesian businesses to be in the international platform for furnishing and design industry. This year Bekraf facilitated Indonesian businesses of two categories, creative talents and manufacturers. In the upcoming event the Indonesian exhibitors would be among the 2000 other exhibitors at the 205,000 sqm exhibition area.
In this opportunity AlvinT exhibits the Angan standing shelf; a floor-stand shelf that is sophisticatedly also a standalone art piece. Its poles form a cage-like silhouette structure, with hairline brass sheet in gloss finish which are bound to the structure with leather. The floor-stand shelf is with approximately an 860mm diameter and close to 2.5 meters tall.
Rattan has been the main material of AlvinT furniture, of which the design firm is most known.
The Sadha lounge chair is also exhibited; the second time for the item to be presented at a European exhibition, after the IMM Cologne held earlier this year. The lounge chair is part of the hiCraft Rattan collection designed by AlvinT for VIVERE, the Indonesian lifestyle brand and manufacturer.
Salone Internazionale del Mobile and International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition 2018 hosts more than 2,000 exhibitors covering 205,000 sqm exhibition area, split into 3 style categories: Classic: Tradition in the Future, Design and xLUX – will be joined by the biennial EuroCucina – plus its collateral event FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) – and International Bathroom Exhibition, as well as SaloneSatellite.
Five exhibitions will be held contemporaneously from Tuesday 17th to Sunday 22nd April at Fiera Milano, Rho. They will be open to trade visitors every day from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm, and also open to the public on the Saturday and Sunday.
In line with Bekraf’s mission the presence in this exhibition for AlvinT is more than a mere promotional or branding activity; it is yet another intentional effort to support the global positioning of the country.
