Interior Design Shape of Thoughts
Photography Martin Westlake
The project started with a large plot of land where the client wished to build two indoor tennis courts and a gym that will be open for the public. Through a hidden multifaceted wooden entrance, this house was built on the second floor adjacent to the tennis court. alvinT Studio (now Shape of Thoughts) was assigned to design the interior of the house along with several improvements towards the architecture in order to improve the layout and space planning. The objective of this project was to create a living space that is open and accessible. The dining room, living room, and master bedroom are all connected and accessible to the pool which is the center of the house. There are many bespoke elements and pieces that were designed specifically for this project such as furniture pieces, carpet rugs, bathroom consoles, suspended outdoor lamps, and many more.
The design is an amalgamation of modern tropical with a contemporary design icon. The main materials used for this project were a local slate stone and teak wood that provides the soothing timeless tropical ambiance, finally, this was complemented with designer furniture pieces.
